Paul C. R. Monk grew up in the south east of England then spent many years living in France with a 3-year stint in Spain. He did many different jobs after leaving school from emptying bins and odd-jobbing to creating holograms. He eventually trained as a linguist, and worked for 9 years as a teacher before becoming a video game writer on scores of projects from indie to AAA titles.
He is currently working on a historical fiction trilogy, which follows the true story of a merchant family during the world-shaking drama of Louis XIV’s revocation of religious tolerance. France,1685, against the advice of her Huguenot husband, Jeanne Delpech returns to her hometown with her three children to give birth to her baby. She soon discovers that the dreaded commander of the Sun King’s dragoons has also arrived, to convert the city by billeting his army in Protestant homes. Book two takes us from the streets of the walled city of Geneva to the treacherous straits of the Caribbean.
Today Paul lives in Cambridgeshire with his French wife and their three young sons.
